Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford, an American singer-dancer and actress. Her early Broadway parts include Wicked Legally Blonde & Hair. The play You Can't Take It With You in which she was awarded the Tony Award as Best Featured actress in the Play. Annaleigh is a Tony Award winning actress and director has spent most of her career working alongside famous directors and actors both in film and on television. Ashford can be seen next as a co-star with Kumail Nanjiani in Robert Siegel's Hulu exclusive Welcome to Chippendales. It debuts on the 22nd November. Ashford is currently involved in Searchlight Pictures' horror film Dust that stars Sarah Paulson alongside Ebon and Moss Bachrach. The film will be available through Disney's DTC platforms as a Hulu Original. Ashford will be returning in 2023 and will star alongside Josh Groban at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre for the revival of Stephensondheim's Sweeney Todd. The same team that created Hamilton producer Jeffrey Seller and director Thomas Kail will be at leading the show. Ashford portrayed Paula Jones, the main role in Ryan Murphy's latest FX show American Crime Story Impeachment. The show is based on the impeachment crisis that swept Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky Linda Tripp as well as other main actors into the very first impeachment trial in the United States in over a century. She was also the lead in two seasons on CBS Comedy B Positive. Created by Marco Pennette and Chuck Lorre the show also starred famous actors Linda Lavin Hector Elizondo and Ben Vereen.No no stranger to Broadway Ashford won the Tony Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle Awards for her performance as Essie In You Can't Take It with You. Sunday in the Park with George Wicked legally blonde and the originating part of Lauren in Kinky Boots were among her other Broadway performances. Her birthplace and childhood was in Denver Ashford currently splits the time in Los Angeles and New York.
